How can I find out if you can cover my condition?
You can either give us a call or use our quote calculator to take you through the screening process. The results will be identical and will let you know if we can cover you (more than likely we can) and how much any extra premium may be.
I have a medical condition and want to travel with my family. Will you penalise them for my condition?
No! Our screening process allows you to screen for any member of the party individually and any additional premium won't affect anyone else travelling with you.
Will I save money if I buy an annual policy rather than a single trip policy?
Yes, probably. It depends where you go and how often you go for. If you travel more than a couple of times a year then you will usually find it's cheaper. Also, it's less hassle as you only have to buy one policy annually.
What if I buy an annual policy and my condition changes throughout the year?
It's no problem. Just let us know if anything changes and we can add amend or adjust your policy. In fact, it's vital that you do so we can make sure your cover won't be affected.
I want to buy an annual policy for my family. Will it allow me or them to travel independently?
Yes. Anyone named on your policy will be covered for independent travel. So you can go on business trips or weekends without the kids knowing you are covered!
How long can I go for on a Long Stay policy?
Our policies can cover you for a single trip of up to 18 months. You can also come home twice during that time if you need to return for any reason.
What if I buy a long stay policy and have to come home for treatment in the middle of a trip?
We can cover you. Just let us know and we'll make sure your policy will cover it.
I am thinking of going away somewhere warm for the winter but I want to come back for Christmas and for a family event. Can I?
Yes! You can return home twice on our Long Stay policies without having to take out extra cover or telling us.
What happens if I buy a Winter Sports policy and can't ski when I get there?
Our Standard and Superior policies offer cover for your equipment, whether it is lost or delayed. All our policies also offer cover in case you can't ski because of avalanches or because the pistes are closed.
What kind of skiing can I do with your standard Winter Sports policy?
All our policies will enable you to ski, snowboard or toboggan as part of your policy. In fact they will allow you to take part in most winter sports including ice skating, husky dog sledging and Nordic skiing. However if you want to go heli-skiing or ice windsurfing (and why shouldn't you?) it can still be covered. Just get in touch and tell us what you'll be doing and we'll arrange it for you.
How do I buy a Cruise extension?
The Cruise extension is not automatically included on standard policies. However, adding it is easy. Once you have chosen your policy type you'll see there is an option to add Cruise cover in your policy options. Select this option and you'll be covered for your cruise. Simple. What happens if I am ill and can't go on an excursion or have to stay on board at port?
Our policy will compensate you for missing out on a destination and will also cover you if you are detained in the ship's hospital or are confined to your cabin and can't go on a pre-organised excursion.
Will you cover me if I have to cancel my cruise?
We offer extra value cover for our cruise customers because we know that cruises aren't cheap. So we'll cover you up to £9,999 if you have to cancel your cruise, depending on the reason.
I am going on a cruise. What happens if I get sick and can't go on an excursion?
We'll cover it. If you are confined to your cabin or cannot go on any pre-booked excursions our Cruise policy will cover it.
I travel a lot for business but have a medical condition. Can you cover me?
Yes! We can cover your business travel too. Our policies include business travel insurance with medical conditions if you need it, with all the benefits you'd expect from all our other policies. Just ask!
I want to try some dangerous sports. Can I?
We cover over 150 sports and activities (from our activity pack 1) automatically with our policies. You can check which ones on our policy details. If they are not listed then check whether or not they are included in our other activity packs. Tick that pack for you when you are prompted when you get your quote.
My husband has a policy with his bank account but I am not mentioned on it and have a medical condition. Can I travel on a policy with you and him with the bank?
Well, you can, but we wouldn't recommend it. That's because he won't be covered if you fall ill when you are away and have to come home in an emergency. We, as your insurers, will only cover you and not your husband, which means there will be a disparity in your cover. So best get a quote from us and forget your bank insurance.
